Heaven I Left It’s getting late it's getting early And I’m thinking of you Shadows of an old lover In every corner of this room I reach into the dark I’m searching for you Grasping out at nothing I’m falling from the moon You’re the Heaven I left Now I’m left missing you You’re the Heaven I left But you made me choose When I let my mind wander It always tends to find you Hiding old desires In this pitch black room I caught myself dreaming This rose was for you Paradise is lonely I’m not over you You’re the Heaven I left Now I’m left missing you You’re the Heaven I left But you made me choose I can still see you crying When it was time for you to go I couldn’t ask you to stay I had my own life to follow You’re the Heaven I left Now I’m left missing you You were Heaven and I left But you made me choose I reach into the dark I been searching for you Grasping out at nothing I’m falling from the moon

On to the North Packed up my things  Threw my life in my car  Chasing down a dream  To find my North Star  Driving down the road  To the beat of my soul  Looking to be wild  Looking to… Roam  On to the North- I Go  On to the North- I Go  Picked up a drifter  He looked a lot like me  Looking for a Magic Bus  Hitching to be free  Not slaving for a dollar  Trading stories in time  Never been so awake  Never been so… Alive  On to the North- I Go  On to the North- I Go  Gave up my old life  Took a fresh start  Stepped out of my shadow  Got to know my heart  Driving down the road  I hear the beat of my soul  Living to be wild  Living to… Roam  On to the North- I Go  On to the North- I Go

Never Got Your Name Never got your name Your face stayed with me just the same We were passing a summers day Never got your name Keep a lookout just the same You were looking my way Got my hopes up waiting around A nameless face that can’t be found …Still no sign of you Never got your name Your face stayed with me just the same A stranger I felt I knew Never got your name Keep a lookout just the same Couldn’t take my eyes off you Got my hopes up waiting around A nameless face that can’t be found …Still no sign of you And I wonder Where are you now And I wonder If you’ll be found And I wonder What could have been And I wonder What if…then All this time Never giving up All this time Thinking you’re the one Never got your name Your face stayed with me just the same You were in my dreams again Never got your name Keep a lookout just the same One look I won’t forget Got my hopes up waiting around A nameless face that can’t be found …Still no sign of you

Suit and Noose Throw a coin in the fountain Down the wishing well Jump in head first You know they’ll wish you well Been slaving away You know I cash in my time In a glass castle Burning up my life Been trying to get out Been trying to hide Oh I got to get out Gonna hang myself in this suit and tie Climb that ladder Climb it to the top Jump off the roof Pavement belly flop Line me up Put a bullet in my head Shoot me down Put me in my dirt bed Been trying to get out Been trying to hide Oh I got to get out Gonna hang myself in this suit and tie Needle in my vein He says you won’t feel a thing I said that’s just fine Send me into that dream Strap me down Turn the juice up to ten Fry me good Let the rat race end Been trying to get out Been trying to hide Oh I got to get out Gonna hang myself in this suit and tie Been trying to get out Been trying to hide Oh I got to get out Gonna hang myself in this suit and tie Gonna hang myself in this suit and tie

Don’t Let It Die All the things you wanted To feed your soul The dreams you buried But couldn’t let go Just take the first step When you can’t see the road And all you’ll really need Is to let go Don’t let it die Don’t let it die Don’t let it die Down inside All you thought you needed To free your soul Keep your promise And you will know How to take the next step When you can’t see the road And all you’ll really need Is to let go Don’t let it die Don’t let it die Don’t let it die Down inside Don’t let it die Don’t let it die Don’t let it die Down inside Don’t let it die Don’t let it die Don’t let it die Down inside

about

On to the North is Larry Lacerte’s second studio release made in collaboration with Broke Down Rodeo. He continues to refine his brand of Roots Americana with tracks like “Heaven I Left” and “On to the North” before exploring a more electric sound with the bluesy “Killing Me Babe.” “Don’t Let It Die” rounds out the album with an energetic tune that is the spirit of his path. It’s about doing all the things you’ve always wanted to do and carving out a place in this world, a theme also present in the album’s title track. Larry’s traveling and living in Alaska for a time led him to write, “On to the North,” which draws inspiration from the Into the Wild story. The song is about seeking your ‘true north’ and the invigorating feeling of the spirit and the mind coming together to pursue a dream.
